I am currently working on another linoleum block cut print, and hoping to experiment with using more than one color on the prints. This is a piece that I started during my "Lino Print " demonstration I gave to the A.R.T. organization several weeks ago.The print should be completed in the next few days. On Sunday, April 21, at 2pm, I will be giving the Artists Round Texas program, a demonstration on my process of creating linoleum block cut prints. You can find additional information at the following link: yourrockwall.dallasnews.com/2013/04/08/a-r-t-welcomes-print-artist-gregory-lavender I have completed a still life painting of wooden blocks, the medium used was acrylic paints. I will be starting up new pieces soon. Three linoleum block prints of mine were accepted into the Texas Visual Art Association (TVAA) exhibit "Portraits: Self and Other". The pieces that were accepted are entitled "African Boys", "Grandpa" and "Sleep".
The exhibit will be September 3-28 2012 at the TVAA Downtown Gallery located at the Plaza of the Americas, Suite G-207, 700 North Pearl Street, Dallas, Texas, 75201. For additional information please go to www.tvaa.org. I just completed a linoleum block carving of a guitar player. It was brought to my attention this past March at the, 2012 Staple Expo, that the one important instrument that I did not have represented in my prints was the guitar. This piece completes my "jazz musicians" series of prints.
